It was recently announced to the public that famed singer Whitney Houston was found dead in a Los Angeles hotel room earlier today. She was only 48-years-old.

Houston was staying in a fourth floor Beverly Hilton hotel room. Sometime in the late afternoon, her ex Ray J. found her body (however, Fox TV celebrity journalist Flo Anthony says Houston's brother Michael found her in the bathtub) and despite resuscitation attempts, it was all in vain. Her body did not respond, and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 pm, according to  Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen. Luckily, "There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent at this time," Rosen stated.

The latest is that Houston spoke with her mother, Crissy Houston via telephone 20 to 35 minutes before she died. She also spoke with her cousin, Dionne Warwick sometime during the day, and they discussed that night's plans, which included Clive Davis' annual Grammy party. Unfortunately, she didn't make it.

The cause of her death is of course unknown at this time. However it is believed that her history with drugs may have played a part.

Houston had been part of the music world for over thirty years, and was the most awarded female of all time. She was a talented singer, actress, producer and model, with her most famous role being her first, which was in The Bodyguard. Her most famous songs include "I Will Always Love You," "Saving All My Love for You," "I'm Every Woman" and "How Will I know." She brought a lot to the music industry and the world as a whole. She will be missed. RIP.
