After a successful inaugural run in 2013, Philip Anselmo is bringing back his Housecore Horror Film & Metal Festival in 2014. The event will once again take place in Austin, Texas, running Oct. 23-26.

We already knew that Philip Anselmo had finished his vocals for Down's next EP. Now, it been revealed that the entire EP is complete. In a recent photo posted on their Facebook page, there's a big pile of empty beer cases with the caption "EP Two is done!!! And there was much rejoicing!"

Good news, Down fans! The band is making significant progress on their next EP. In fact, frontman Philip Anselmo recently confirmed to CobraMetal.net that he's completed recording vocals for the effort, which is the follow-up to 2012's 'Down IV Part I – The Purple EP.'

Phil Anselmo's Housecore Horror Film Festival is upon us! The Austin, Texas, music and horror film festival will open its doors on Oct. 24 and will not relent until Oct. 27. The fest is truly unique in its personality, and during Phil Anselmo's recent visit to our studios, the man behind the idea revealed everything we should look forward to from the fest.

Kirk Windstein, who has been a member of Down, Crowbar and Kingdom of Sorrow, has apparently stepped away from Down to focus on Crowbar. He's the vocalist and also plays guitar for Crowbar, whose last album was 2011's 'Sever the Wicked Hand.'

2013 is not even two months old yet, but Down got the year off to a great start while joining labelmates Warbeast for a pummeling January excursion. Now the veteran metal collective will pack up their gear once again this spring for a week-long trek through the Southeastern United States, concluding with a hometown show in New Orleans.

Down recently visited Loudwire's offices when they were on tour in New York City. The entire group swarmed on our little studio room to talk about their four-part series of 'Down IV' EPs, all the while anointing themselves the most handsome band in the history of handsome while knocking back a few beers.

A metalhead’s work is never done. The always-prolific Phil Anselmo, who always seems to have several irons in the metal fire, is working hard on some brand new solo material. The former Pantera singer, who has also recently been laying down tracks on a Down EP, is working with a band on this other project, according to his boarder Mike Williams of Eyehategod fame.

Rex Brown is most famous for being the bass player in Pantera and when they broke up he went with frontman Phil Anselmo to play bass in DOWN full time.  Recently he quit DOWN and is in a new band, Kill Devil Hill.  He explains why he quit DOWN in a recent interview with Metal Maiden.
