Record Store Day is right around the corner, with plenty of specialty items heading to independent record stores. This year's event takes place in participating stores on April 20 and a number of top acts are preparing fresh vinyl releases to attract fans to the old-school way of buying new music.

Saturday April 21st is Record Store Day, it's purpose is to celebrate the art of music. The day brings together over 700 independently owned record stores in the United States. Many stores are celebrating with special appearances, performances, vinyl releases and CD releases. So far Metallica fans have only been able to get Metallica's EP 'Beyond Magnetic' thru digital means.  Now the band has announced they will release the EP on silver vinyl for Record Store Day, April 21st. The EP features tracks that were not included on 2008's Death Magnetic Album.
