December 16, 2011 The Holiday season makes people want to do something special for those they love. For some it means offering a devotion of love and asking someone to spend the rest of their life with them. Now, I know I’m not suppose to find pleasure in other peoples emotional pain, however when something like this goes wrong I can’t help it.
Being that I work in the broadcast field, I know how frustrating it can be when something doesn't go as planned when it's suppose to be live. All you want to do is throw your headphone off and swear. Most times though, you don't because you want to avoid that pesky FCC fine. This local news producer however didn't realize he was miced up and dropped us two delightful treats.
The guys on Discovery Channels Mythbusters do some pretty remarkable things, but even for experts things can go terribly wrong. They learned that when they accidentally fired a cannon ball through a couple home.
As I watched Wheel of Fortune I just happened to witness this little gem. It was the part of the show when Pat asks the contestants what they do for a living or fun and contestant Lorimar said she was big into karaoke, except for the motion she did made it look like she was big into something else. Something that you don't really do in a public setting, and she even got Pat to join in with her. This will for sure go down in Wheel history.
Pat Robertson has put his foot in his mouth more than once, but in this instance he just sounds stupid. One of his CBN reporters was interviewing Condoleezza Rice when she said that Mac & Cheese was one of her favorite parts of holiday dinner. Pat then asks if Mac & Cheese is a "black thing". How do you not know what Mac & Cheese is?
Most of us are coming off of a long weekend, and it's hard to get going on Monday morning. It's not any different here at the Q103 studio as evident by this photo.
Talk about a close call. Checkout this live TV footage of a man narrowly escaping his very own Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Not really sure what the news piece was about, but all I know is that we came very close to seeing a man cut is own face off on live television. Not sure if I would have posted the video in that case, but this one is pretty crazy with the "almost" factor. Kids, don't play with power tools.
A big oops for ESPN reporter Tom Rinaldi. He mixes up Ohio State and Penn State when talking about the current scandal going on at Penn State. Ohio State had it's share of bad press earlier this year, so it was probably fresh in his head. It's pretty funny that he didn't correct himself, and said it twice. I'm sure an Ohio State official was sitting at home going, glad the heats off of us, then he heard and let out a "C'mon Man!'
Sometimes things can get a bit out of hand. This is one of those times. A coach of a youth football team decided to throw on a helmet at the teams final practice and show the boys how it's done. Unfortunately for him he ended up breaking one of the kids collarbones. That kid happens to be 13 years old, and according to Yahoo his parents might be pressing charges. Nice move.
So, everything you expect to go wrong with this situation does in fact go wrong. We have a kid, a really fast treadmill and two older boys.
Even if you are a good person you love to watch people fail at something, especially when that fail happens to be hilarious and in slow motion. Pretty much every single mishap in the world is on video these days and even a new born baby has a YouTube account so everything is uploaded almost immediately
Yesterday during the game between the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays one of the TBS cameramen fell down while following Texas' Adrian Beltre down the third baseline to home plate. It was quite the face plant.
