On Monday,  we mentioned that former NY Met Mike Piazza would be honored in Albany this week. The report came from the Daily News.

Piazza was honored by the Legislature Wednesday and attended the ceremony hosted by Gov. Andrew Cuomo at the Executive Mansion. Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued a citation in recognition of Piazza'a accomplished career and induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, presenting the 12-time all star and former New York Mets catcher with the first official bat of New York.

According to a press release from the Governor's office, Cuomo stated, "we looked back in the archives and there was no official bat until this one- it's for Mike Piazza with the great Seal of the State of New York on it, congratulations Mike, thanks for being here."
