The Daily News is reporting that former Mets star Mike Piazza will be honored in Albany this Wednesday (March 9).

Mike Piazza will be going into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown this summer, but a stop at the NY state capitol will be first according to the article. He will be honored by the Legislature said Sen. Jose Peralta. "I want to congratulate Mets great Mike Piazza, one of the best hitting catchers in baseball history, on his election into the Baseball Hall of Fame. It was terrific that Piazza chose to be inducted as a NY Met, colors he defended with passion from 1998 until 2005".

Pedro Martinez was honored last year, making it the second year in a row that a Hall of Fame bound player has visited the capitol. Are you excited for Mike Piazza going into the Baseball Hall of Fame and will you be attending the Hall of Fame ceremony in Cooperstown this summer? I'm not much of a baseball fan quite honestly, but I have much respect for Piazza who happens to be a big metalhead!
