According to timesunion.com, a fire destroyed Dairy Circus, a Scotia, NY landmark on Monday.

The fire that destroyed Dairy Circus ice cream and restaurant was apparently started accidentally, and no injuries were reported. The family-owned business gained fame for a scene that was shot for the 2012 film "The Place Beyond the Pines" starring Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, and Eva Mendes. "That was one of the focal points for social interaction in the village" said Mayor Kris Kastberg. It took 90 minutes to get the fire under control according to Scotia fire chief Ken Almy, who also said that two dozen firefighters from three different fire companies helped put out the blaze. "Due to the age and the type of construction, the fire just traveled. It spread really fast" Almy said. The building was condemned on Tuesday. Owners Robb and Doreen Clemons were said to be in shock over the loss. Two GoFundMe pages have been set up to help raise funds for the Clemons family.
