Q103

The Deadliest Catch – a reality TV show on the Discovery Channel about the deadliest job in America;  Crab Fishing in the Bering Sea.   Sig Hanson from the Northwestern and Johnathan Hillstrand from the Time Bandit, stopped by the Q103 studios to hang with me during the Workforce Request Lunch Hour.

I’m a big fan of the show and these two Captains are about as tough and crazy as they come.  They dine on chocolate, and cigarettes while staying awake for hours on end to catch the big prize.  Alaskan King Crab.

If you missed the live interview on Q103 then hear it now as they talk about their show at the Palace and share stories about crabbing, including such topics of how to shut Keith up from the Wizard, Jake’s plans to be captain on the Northwestern,  Captain Phil of the Cornelia Marie, Sigs book,  the Discovery Channel cameramen, and how a radio personality like myself can become a crab fisherman.

According to the Palace Theatre this summarizes the show tonight.

In this rare, live, interactive event, the Bering Sea’s toughest crew swap stories as they take the audience through some of the roughest situations the captain and crew have ever had to face on the high seas. From the treacherous weather and crew conflicts, to the triumphs of the team, Captain Sig and Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand bring the intimate world of crab fishing to a live audience.
