Going on a hiking trip soon? Want the refreshment of a frosty cold beer without having to carry a cooler up the hillside with you?

Thanks to science - Now you can!

Alaskan brewery Pat's Backcountry Beverages is selling their latest innovation, packs of beer concentrate.

How does it work exactly?

Place a carbonation tablet inside a bottle of water, then add the beer concentrate and shake. The end result is "instant beer." Yeah it's that simple!

The company's website further explains:

Unlike other concentrate processes, this is not just about making the beer and then "removing" the water afterwards.

Instead, our process (patent pending) allows us to start with almost no water, and carefully control the environment of the fermentation.

The result… a concentrated brew with all the same great taste you're used to in a premium micro brew. All you do is add water, carbonate, and enjoy,' the beverage company proudly explains

A four pack of the beer concentrate cost $9.99 while a bottle is around $29.99. There are two flavors to choose from right now, 1919 Pale Rail or Black Hops. The carbonation tablets are just a mere 50 cents each.

It might be a little pricey but the convenience is well worth the price.
