Next month, the annual South by Southwest, or SXSW Music Festival will be returning to Austin, Texas, just as it has every year since 1987. It takes place over four days, and features dozens upon dozens of bands, most of whom are fairly new and upcoming to the music scene.

This year marks the festival's 25th anniversary, and it promises to be the best year yet. From March 16-20th, Austin will be flooded with bands, concert-goers, photographers, journalists and anything and anyone else that makes this music festival one of the biggest and most popular events in the country.

SXSW showcases hundreds upon hundreds of musical acts from around the globe on over eighty stages in downtown Austin. All this and so much more, combine to make SXSW one of the most revered music events, year after year.

There are literally too many bands to count, but here are about 20 bands that will be showcased at SXSW:

This list is just a small fraction of the bands that will be performing this year. If you got excited just looking at this list, imagine how you'll feel being there, seeing them live, along with a ton of other bands. Sure it's a long ways away, but I'm almost positive it would be worth it!
