Oh man! It looks like a Woodstock 50th Anniversary festival is officially becoming more of a reality than a pipe dream and I don't know about you, but I'm ready to buy a ticket.

August of 2019 will mark the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock which is probably the most historic music festival in history. For years now there have been rumblings of a 50th anniversary festival happening (in fact I think I responded to a Facebook event invite a few years back) but after the madness that was Woodstock '99 many of us remained skeptical that it would actually come to fruition.

Well, over the last week or so Governor Cumo has been dolling out $800 million in funds to New York States Regional Economic Development Council and according to the Poughkeepsie Journal the Mid Hudson Region region received a big chunk of that cash. To the tune of $84.8 million!

$689,063 of that specifically for a three day festival to be held at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in 2019! That's not all the venue got for this event either,

Bethel Woods also received $28,225 to plan improvements to the site, including the marking of features of the 1969 festival, such as the stage, sound towers and performers’ bridge. Plans also call for a scenic overlook at the top of the famous festival site hill.

It is all happening! As of right now there aren't many specific details on the anniversary festival but I will tell you this, it is probably a good idea to keep the weekend of August 16th-18th 2019 open. Or the whole month, just incase.
