One of the last decade’s defining reality dramas is gearing up to return. American Chopper will bring the Teutuls back to the limelight, as Discovery is officially picking up the fan-favorite motorcycle family for a winter return.

According to Entertainment Weekly, American Chopper will return to Discovery “this winter” for another round of exploits between father-son business partners Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul Teutul Jr. American Chopper ran for 223 episodes from 2002-2010, continuing in spinoff American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior for two years after that. The new series sees the pair looking to “reclaim their preeminent bike brands” and rebuild relationships with their A-list clientele. Here’s what Discovery said of the return:

The Teutuls have been on a wild ride, and it certainly isn’t ending anytime soon. Paul Sr. has revamped Orange County Choppers – turning it into a complex with a shop, café, bowling alley, restaurant and of course, the showroom – but all that didn’t come without a hefty price tag and he is feeling the burden of a high overhead and a lack of foot traffic. Meanwhile, Paul Jr. has also felt the sting of a rough economy – with his business built solely on high-dollar custom-builds and commissions becoming tougher to come by, Paul Jr. stresses about the long-term stability of his own shop, Paul Jr. Designs especially now that he has his own family.

American Chopper is considered one of the docu-soap format’s progenitors, so stay tuned for more on the developing revival and its winter premiere.
