2 Upstate New York Breweries Take Home Gold At Great American Beer Fest

They say baseball is America's greatest past time but let's be honest, we're really all about the beer.

Think about it. Beer is a huge staple at every major, minor, even AAA sporting event and quite honestly every big event around.With the American Craft Beer industry growing as it is it seems only natural that some of the best beers in the country would come out of Upstate New York.

It's no secrete to us that Upstate New York is home to quite a variety of delicious craft beverages and now the whole country knows it. The Great American Beer Fest was held earlier this month in Denver Colorado and I'm proud to inform you that two amazing breweries from Upstate New York brought home the gold!

According to NewYorkUpstate.com Adirondack Pub and Brewery out of Lake George won in the in the Wood- and Barrel-aged Sour Beer category for their Sour Project Ale. While Brewery Ommegang won in the Belgian-style Wibier (a.k.a. wheat beer) category for their Belgian-style wheat beer, Witte.

Congrats to the winners for brewing some great beveys for us and bringing home the gold! Anyone else feeling the need to make a little day trip to go taste these award winning brews?!?!
