What is it about this Schenectady restaurant that celebrities like so much?

Tom Cruise and science fiction are a powerful combination. Although the opening weekend of 'Oblivion' didn't break any records big or small, it's a more than solid start for a non-franchise, non-sequel, non-reboot. That's a sad statement on the current state of Hollywood, but that's another topic for another day.

Be prepared for a number of main streets to be closed off in Schenectady today, as the local film The Place Beyond the Pines, starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper will continue filming. Plan to get detoured to back and side streets, and give yourself extra time to arrive to your destinations. Oh, and try and get a glimpse of the stars for me!

I've blogged previously about the movie The Place Beyond the Pines being partly filmed in Schenectady. This is an update on that story, as the film crew moved in yesterday to being shooting, which will take place in some of the local banks, a few Schenectady homes and in sections of the Woodlawn Preserve and Albany Pine Bush Reserve. After reading a story that Rob Dawes posted recently about a movie being filmed right here in the Capital Region, I decided to try out for The Place Beyond the Pines starring Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gossling and perhaps ol' Monte!?

Would you like to be a movie?  How about a movie starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper.  Titled 'The Place beyond the Pines' will have parts filmed in Schenectady this summer.  Movie producers are looking for local actors to play cops, kids, lawyers, reporters and more.

Earlier this week, I blogged about the new Ryan Gosling movie The Place Beyond the Pines partly filming in Schenectady. Now, there is new news that states the film will call for a local teenager to star in the film along side Gosling and Hangover star Bradley Cooper. If you're a teen who aspires to be a movie star, then this might be your calling and a great start to your career!
