Your Tri-City ValleyCats are now just one victory away from the NYPL title after a walk-off win last night at "The Joe."

The ValleyCats picked the perfect time to win a game via walk-off, their first of the season, doing it last night in game one of the NYPL Championship against the Hudson Valley Renegades.  After giving up three runs in the first inning, the 'Cats settled down and plated two in the second and two more runs in the third inning to take a lead that would last all the way until the ninth inning.  That's where the drama ensued.

Hudson Valley's Leonardo Reginatto strolled to the dish with one out in the ninth and with the ball game tied, drilled a homer to left.  Failing to score in the ninth themselves, the 'Cats had to fight off a tenth inning scare again when the Renegades had two men on, but the 'Cats luckily got out of the inning unscathed.

The ValleyCats with a single out in the  bottom of the tenth reeled off  three straight hits to load the bases for a game-winning sac fly by Preston Tucker.  With the victory, the 'Cats are now one win a way from the NYPL title!  Games two and three will take place on the Renegades' home field, Dutchess Stadium.  The games will be broadcast on the ValleyCats website.  First pitch of game two is 6:05 PM tonight, go 'Cats!

Were you at the game last night or are you going down to Dutchess Stadium?
