Big doings in the MLB today according to multiple sources.

In what the New York Post describes as a MLB blockbuster, The Giants have acquired Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria in exchange for several players. Infielder Christian Arroyo, veteran outfielder Denard Span along with minor league pitchers Stephen Woods and Matt Krook all go to Tampa Bay. Stephen Woods was selected by The Tampa Bay Rays in the sixth round of the 2013 MLB draft but he did not sign with the Rays. He attended UAlbany and played for the Albany Great Danes college baseball team. The San Francisco Giants selected him in the eighth round of the 2016 MLB draft just after Woods junior year. He signed with the Giants and didn't return to UALbany for his senior year. With the addition of Longoria, the Giants hope to bounce back and rebuild the team which won World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
