Just a week after massive tornadoes hit Joplin, Missouri, Springfield, Massachusetts  was the next place on mother natures hit list.

A very scary moment not to far from the Capital Region.  Tornadoes touched down in Springfield, Mass yesterday and left 4 people dead in it's path.

According to CBS 6, the first of the two tornadoes was the most powerful and did the most damage.  People were injured all across the area from Westfield to Douglas.  Governor Deval Patrick has declared a state of emergency.

Right now the 4 reported deaths are just a preliminary number as crews and people go through the damage.  In some raw video below you can actually see the tornado form over the Connecticut river.  Mother nature is a powerful instrument, and we should never forget it.
