A summer staple for many not just in the Capital Region but nationwide as well. However it may not be a worry for you at all, find out if it is.

I don't know about your family but when mine has a cook out or grills on holidays. There is always one relative that brings a heaping portion of bushes baked beans. Usually my mom. Now this easy dish that is a must for just about any cookout may now make you ill if you have one of the varieties that is being recalled across the country. Not all are contaminated.

In fact they may not be contaminated at all. The issue lies in the construction of the can not the contents inside. Defective side seams are what is to blame for the recall. It could cause the cans to leak and or open to allow bacteria in. The varieties to watch out for are as follows,

  • Bush's Original Baked Beans
  • Bush's Best Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans
  • Bush's Best Country Style Baked Beans

Now as noted above, maybe this recall doesn't impact you. Odds are it does though, these are popular ones than many people buy.

The company asks that even if the can seems perfectly fine and the beans smell alright. Dispose of them. No illnesses have been reported.
