Americana for some, fond memories by many and one HoJo's remains. Their Lake George location.

The second to last location in Bangor, Maine has closed its doors for good and many are sad to see it go. However being that we live in Upstate NY we don't have to be as somber as many others around the country. One and only one Howard Johnson's restaurant remains and Lake George calls it home.

I must admit, I didn't grow up on Howard Johnson's like many did. In fact I would tend to say nobody or a very select few from my generation have. It is a staple of america for generations past. I've actually only eaten at one once before and it was their former location in Lake Placid. It was okay but nothing to write home about.

Either way with only one location left what could this mean for it? Is it going to be a tourist destination? For some I am sure what if they just so happen to be in Lake George than yes they sure will eat there. But no, It wont draw in tourists. In fact being that Lake George is only booming for roughly half of the year I could see a similar doom that the Bangor location is facing happening in the not so far off future to Lake George too. It's sad.
