Naughty Dog is hard at work getting some new maps and improved matchmaking times for The Last of Us Remastered's online multiplayer.

Work is being done to diminish the long wait times when it comes to The Last of Us Remastered's online Factions gameplay. Naughty Dog has also announced that it will be releasing two free maps soon for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of The Last of Us as a means of apologizing for these long waits. Live Updates and Patch 1.02 helped improve the online gameplay in the world of the Infected and the Fireflies, but there's still more work to be done. The studio estimates that these updates will come within a few weeks.

We advise players who are stuck in matchmaking for long amounts of time without finding a game should exit matchmaking and select "Find Match" once more. Unfortunately, no information about the maps have been announced. Since most of the previous maps have been based on various levels in the game's main campaign, we're hoping for a University and hospital level, especially in an area filled with spores where everyone is wearing gas masks.

The Last of Us' Factions gameplay is slow, but it's far from Broken.
