For nearly a decade, the old Draper School has been vacant. After the school closed, the space was used for offices. The building's new purpose was short lived, though, and the building quickly became unoccupied and began to deteriorate.

The old Draper School was purchased in June, 2016 by a developer who intended to rehabilitate the building to house apartments. The rehabilitation project has since begun, and will offer Capital Region residents 100+ apartments available to rent.

Dan Laroe, a Capital Region resident, photographs abandoned buildings throughout the northeast as a hobby for his Facebook page, Northeastern Abandoned Exploration. Check out more photos from Draper School, and other cool buildings in the northeast, on his Facebook page. Laroe intends to follow the Draper School's rehabilitation process. Check here for updates.
