This might not be a shock to some, but it turns out, New York is a pretty so-so place to live. I'm not saying I agree, though where we landed was pretty humorous.  Sure the winter's over so my mood is a little bit better (though I didn't appreciate the snow flakes around Mother's Day when I was in the mountains)...

Live music all over the place.  It's that time of year where all of the summer concert series are starting to get announced, and Troy just revealed theirs. Rockin' on the River is going to be happening from June 5th through August 7th at the Riverfront Park in Troy...

Next week, there's going to be a celebration happening at The Egg.  The Pete Seeger Centennial Concert is happening, with Arlo Guthrie among twelve others present to perform and celebrate. While Pete Seeger passed away in 2014, Guthrie and more are aiming to keep his memory and his music alive...

It's Saratoga Brewfest this Saturday, which made us start to think of, well, beer, and all of the fun that goes with it.  Sure Brewfest maybe all about sampling, but we all remember the days of beer helmets and kegstands too. Ticks ticks ticks.  They're everywhere.  And they seem to be getting worse each season. But a new warning was recently issued about ticks, and it's not for humans. CBS 6 Albany reported about a Burnt Hills Veterinarian recently finding about 60 ticks on a barn cat...

Saratoga Race Course season passes are conveniently on sale at one chain of convenience stores. Track season kicks off in July, with opening day July 11th, and seasons passes are now on sale.  You can get them, according to cbs 6 albany, at Stewart's Convenience Stores around the Capital Region...

In case you somehow missed it (though it was all over the news and social media), the 'Simpsons' recently had an episode where it made fun of Upstate New York.  It even hit close to home, with Niskayuna making an appearance as part of the episode...

'Napoleon Dynamite' is celebrating it's 15 year anniversary as a movie. Included in the celebrations?  A screening in the Capital Region complete with 'Napoleon' and 'Pedro' on-site for a discussion.  CBS 6 Albany reports that stars Jon Heder, who portrayed the unique and quirky Napoleon, and Efren Ramirez- his best friend Pedro- will be on-site at the screening...
