In an excerpt from Twenty, Chris Cornell explains how the camaraderie and competition between Pearl Jam and his band, Soundgarden, in the 90s that led to Temple of the Dog. Pearl Jam is celebrating their 20th anniversary all month with a documentary called Pearl Jam Twenty directed by Cameron Crowe, the release of a double CD soundtrack from the film, and a coffee table book. They can't wait to get back into the studio to finish some new music and plan to release a new album in 2012.

Pearl Jam was on Jimmy Fallon last night for the first of their two night set with the late night genius. Eddie Vedder even came out to join Fallon in singing the classic Fallon tune, "Balls in Your Mouth". They even debuted a brand new song last night as well.

Pearl Jam has a new song -sort of. It's a cover and was performed 10 years ago. It's called Crown of Thorns," and its the the first track to be released from the upcoming Pearl Jam Twenty soundtrack. The song was recorded live at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on 10/22/2000.
