The annual Rock USA Festival set for this summer in Oshkosh, Wis., has expanded to a four-day event this year, scheduled for July 17-20. The nonstop rock fest that promises to “break a few rules” just announced its lineup with an eclectic mix of headliners ranging from Avenged Sevenfold and Godsmack to Bret Michaels and Van Halen.

Record Store Day (April 20) is fast approaching and a number of top hard rock bands have begun revealing what they plan to do to mark the occasion.

Who wouldn't enjoy a nice sunny day out on the golf course in the midst of winter? That's exactly where Avenged Sevenfold's Zacky Vengeance and M. Shadows could be found late last month, and they were there in the name of a good cause.

Avenged Sevenfold are starting to map out their 2013 plans that includes the likely release of a new album and a return to the road. One of the major stops on their upcoming itinerary will be at the Rock in Rio festival, which has become a favorite stopping place over the years.

Avenged Sevenfold are huge video game fans, so it was a no-brainer for the band when they were approached to do something special for the newly-released 'Call of Duty: Black Ops II' game. Not only did they contribute the song 'Carry On' to the soundtrack, the band -- in their animated form -- turn up at the end to perform the track with 'Black Ops'' two main characters.

Lana Del Rey was definitely not what I was excepting to hear when M. Shadows was asked about his favorite albums of 2012. I mean I'm a big fan of Lana Del Rey, she's awesome...But M. Shadows?

There's lots of activity in the Avenged Sevenfold camp right now. The band released the new song 'Carry On' for 'Call of Duty: Black Ops II,' and the boys even make an appearance in the game, post-credits, as an animated A7X, playing the song. After revealing recently that Avenged Sevenfold were about six songs into a writing their upcoming album. M. Shadows has now given a big hint as to what direction the band will be taking on the disc. He also has laid out a timetable for the album's release.

There may have been questions at one point as to whether or not Avenged Sevenfold would continue after supporting the 'Nightmare' disc as a tribute to late drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, but the band is definitely progressing toward a new album.

Rap/metal collaborations have been common since Anthrax and Public Enemy teamed up for 'Bring the Noise.' Now, Avenged Sevenfold vocalist M. Shadows and guitarist Synyster Gates have lent their talents to a new song by hip-hop artist Machine Gun Kelly.
