The announcement of the PlayStation Vita Slim's UK release date, along with the announcement of an Indie Game Mega Pack, has us clamoring for a North American release.

According to VideoGamer, The Slim PS Vita will reach UK shores by Feb. 7 with a price of £180, which rounds out to about $244. We have a feeling that the slim price might be cheaper should it ever make it to the States, considering that current Vita systems are usually priced around $200. The PS Vita Slim will be 20 percent slimmer, 15 percent lighter and will hold 1GB of console memory along with having a boosted battery life of up to 4-6 hours of gameplay.

Additionally, over on the European PlayStation Blog, Sony announced it's also releasing an Indie Game Mega Pack, which will contain the following indie hits: Alien Breed, LIMBO, Hotline Miami, Total Recoil, Men's Room Mayhem, Velocity Ultra, Thomas was Alone, Superfrog HD and Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD. February is looking to be a good month for handheld gamers in the UK.

There's no word on a release date for either in the U.S. just yet, but we doubt Sony will keep the Slim Vita from our stores much longer. Particularly when you consider how much the company has focused on Remote Play for the PlayStation 4.
