Former Guns N’ Roses/current Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has been part of some iconic TV moments, such as the Michael Jackson 30th anniversary special in 2001, the 100th episode of ‘South Park’ in 2003 and the Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show in 2011 with the Black Eyed Peas.

It’s not too soon to add this one to his impressive list: Playing guitar during actor Charlie Sheen’s Comedy Central roast, which will air Sept. 19 at 10 p.m. ET.

Playing off its use of Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘Crazy Train’ to promote the roast, Comedy Central had Sheen and Slash enter together on the front of a huge locomotive. A smiling Sheen can be heard saying “Wow!” several times as Slash solos over what sounds a lot like an Aerosmith-styled version of ‘Train Kept A Rollin.’

“The Charlie Sheen roast was an f’n excellent time,” Slash posted on his Facebook page. “Everybody was great. Mike Tyson was in rare form. Stoked to have been part of it.”

Coincidentally — or perhaps intentionally — Comedy Central’s ‘Roast of Charlie Sheen’ will air an hour after Sheen’s former CBS sitcom, ‘Two and a Half Men,’ begins its Ashton Kutcher era.

In other Slash-related news, Eagle Rock will release CD and DVD versions of ‘Made in Stoke 24/7/11′ — his first solo show in Stoke, England, where he lived as a child — in mid-November.
