The Red Hot Chili Peppers have to postpone their tour after frontman Anthony Keidis suffered a foot injury that requires surgery.  The band was set to kick off their U.S. tour January 20th in Florida but will now start in March.

Posted on the Red Hot Chili Peppers official website, is the bad news that Keidis went under the knife for multiple foot injuries.

“Red Hot Chili Peppers regret to announce that they must postpone the start of their upcoming U.S. tour due to multiple foot injuries sustained by Anthony Kiedis. Anthony recently underwent surgery to remove a crushed sesamoid bone and correct a detached flexor tendon in his foot and is expected to make a full recovery.

Any postponed dates will honor all tickets purchased at the rescheduled dates.”

The 23-date tour will now begin March 29 in Tampa Bay, FL to give Keidis enough time to recover. The injury will not affect the tour dates  in Europe this summer. Keep checking back for the confirmed rescheduled dates.
