Q-RUPTION $15 Lawn Seats Survival Guide

This weekend until midnight Sunday, you can purchase lawn tickets to the Q103 Q-Ruption Summer Rock Festival for just $15. Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Skillet, Egypt Central will perform at SPAC on August 19th 6pm.  To make your lawn seats more enjoyable, here's a survival guide to help you out.Besides being inexpensive way to see a show, nothing beats sitting on the lawn on a hot July or cool August night at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. You can arrive early pick your spot for your maximum views, (it is sloped) and wait for the show to start. Relax, munch on some snacks, read a book or simply people watch!

Sitting on the lawn for a SPAC show is somewhat a rite of passage for concert goers here in the Albany area. The lawn is quite large and usually doesn't sell out as capacity for shows at SPAC can be over 30,000!

According to the ground rules at SPAC there are certain items you can and cannot bring onto the grounds to see a show like Q-RUPTION.

You can bring in food! It has to be in a clear, 1 gallon plastic bag.  So if you wanted to munch on some cheez-its and a sandwich you can as long as you can fit it in the plastic bag.

No need to spend $5 on water. (not saying SPAC charges $5 its just for argument sake) You can bring factory sealed water bottles up to 1 gallon.

What would be sitting on the lawn without a blanket.  If it has rained the night before do you really want to risk getting your clothes muddy? Or you can lie with your significant other- please don't make others around you uncomfortable with your P.D.A. Blankets are a must for any rock show at SPAC.  Bring the old beat up blanket that you don't mind having people step on.

Who wants to carry a 2 year old around with you while you rock out to Godsmack.  Strollers are welcome on the grounds, however I say leave the little ones at home unless they know what the devil horns stand for!

Gates will probably open at 5pm, since the show starts at 6pm should you arrive late you might get stuck back back back on the lawn, so binoculars can always help with your view to focus in on Sully or the drummer of SKILLET.  Binoculars are allowed.

SPAC allows backpacks.  All the stuff you need to carry around with you.  Money, extra jacket, shoes, hats can be stowed in the backpack.

Purses are allowed - although for a rock show do you really want to have to keep lugging that bag with your life around with you?

Besides a blanket a luxury item is a small lawn chairs to sit on while you wait for the show to start.  Must warn you though, once the show starts people stand and move forward, the lawn chair you brought in could be lost.

Q-RUPTION happens rain or shine, umbrellas, ponchos and rain jackets are allowed.

The following items should be left home: coolers, animals/pets, laser pens, cooking equipment, bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, illegal substances, glass of any kind, weapons, knives, and fireworks.
