Pearl Jam is celebrating their 20th anniversary all month with a documentary called Pearl Jam Twenty directed by Cameron Crowe, the release of a double CD soundtrack from the film, and a coffee table book.  They can't wait to get back into the studio to finish some new music and plan to release a new album in 2012. Pearl Jam recently released a free download of a new song called "Olé".  The song is actually one of the many new songs they have recorded for their 10th new studio album.

Bassist Jeff Arment told Rolling Stone magazine.

We're at least at the halfway point,The first handful of songs we had are a great, great start. It's been really important for us that in the middle of all this, we got together and recorded a bunch of songs. It sort of gave us a breath to go, Okay, we can go back and get ready for the show and book and movie and all that stuff.

The band recorded the new songs with long time producer Brent O'Brien in Los Angeles and in the course of 12 days knocked out a bunch of songs.

No title has been given to the new album, or has any release date been announced. Only early in 2012 expect new music from Eddie Vedder and the boys.
