A pay phone in a courthouse in South Dakota was JUST unplugged after they realized that it was costing the court $69 per phone call.  That and they realized that it was no longer 1997.

The math is simple.  It cost the county $763 a year to have the pay phone.  There were only 11 calls placed on it in 2010.  A little math shows that it cost the county $69 per each of those 11 phone calls.  Welcome to 2011, we have cell phones now!
