People, let us get this off our chest: Paul Stanley of Kiss kicked off the Dodgers-Red Sox game on Aug. 25 with a performance of the national anthem.

Fortunately, thanks to the magic of the web, you didn't need to be at the ballpark to witness the Starchild singing about the star-spangled banner; fans were on hand to capture the moment, which has been preserved for posterity via the YouTube clip we've embedded above.

As the Kiss faithful already no doubt recall, Stanley's rendition of the national anthem marks the second time in recent memory that a member of Kiss has had the honor of performing the song; last September, the band's distinctively tongued bassist Gene Simmons kicked off the Oakland Raiders' 2012 home opener with his own version, which you can hear here.

Perhaps Simmons and Stanley can compare notes while they're on their upcoming promotional tour. As Bravewords reports, the duo will be making the talk-show rounds next month to help get the word out about their new book, 'Nothin' to Lose: The Making of KISS (1972-1975).' Their appearances include a guest spot on the Today Show on Sept. 10 -- which is, not coincidentally, the day the book arrives in stores. As we reported when 'Nothin' to Lose' was announced in 2011, readers can expect to retrace "the band’s career from their humble 1973 start through the 1975 release of the breakthrough concert document ‘Alive.’"
