If your not sure on what to do this New Years Eve here are a few ideas for you ponder while waiting for the ball to drop. Now if your me your New Years eve consists of pigging out on seafood while enjoying some Stella Artois (the champagne of beers) and passing out seconds before the ball drops.  This year will be a little bit different because instead of watching the lame New Years Eve variety shows I'll be able to catch the fighting Irish of Notre Dame in the Sun Bowl.  So where does that leave you?  Heading to a party is always good since it is quite costly to throw your own.  You could go out to one of your favorite bars, except they all over charge to get in the door, and no throwing in a complementary buffet of cocktail franks and pizza bagels does not make $100 an ok price to charge.

There are a few options here in the Capital Region that you can take into account:

The big one of coarse is First Night in Saratoga.  I have been to this a few times and it's a lot of fun.  Food, music, shows and fire works at midnight.  It's defiantly a fun night if you can stand being on the streets of Saratoga in the cold.

Now say your looking for a nice new years eve dinner.  Marche Bistro on State St in Albany has you covered.  A four course meal for $74 a person plus enjoy live music as you dine. Take a look at the Menu here.

There are parties going on all over the Capital region as well.  Valentines in Albany has a couple kick ass bands playing and its only $7 a person. The Palace Theater in Albany has it's First Night of Funny going on.  $22 in advance, $32 night of.  You'll be able to see stand up comedy and laugh away all of last years troubles. Ha.
