As Metallica's summer European festival circuit nears its end, the band has posted video highlights from several recent shows. One of the most notable concerts was Glastonbury, which was the first time Metallica appeared at the long-running British festival, and the first time a metal band headlined.

As you can see from the video above with 'Creeping Death' and 'The Memory Remains' from the June 28 show, Metallica overcame protests and controversy to deliver an outstanding performance. The video also includes rehearsal footage of 'Cyanide.'

Metallica have also posted video of their July 1 'By Request' show in Rome (watch below). It has footage of the band warming up with 'Lords of Summer' in the tuning room along with their performances of 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium)' and 'Blackened' from the concert.

Last month's Landgraaf, Netherlands show is also included in a video below. Metallica jam in the tuning room and goof around talking about some classic Eddie Murphy bits and the stormy weather outside before live versions of 'Ride the Lightning' and 'Wherever I May Roam' are featured.

Metallica's last European show is July 13 in Istanbul, Turkey. They are playing the Heavy Montreal Festival on Aug. 9. Later this month, guitarist Kirk Hammett will be jamming with his former band Exodus at the Fear FestEvil After Party in San Diego on July 25.
