It's going to be a different kind of album for Metallica fans.  Lou Reed fans will probably thrown a bit too when Lulu comes out next month.   The guys in Metallica aren't ruling out the possibility of some live shows with Reed.  Blabbermouth posted a video interview that Metallica did in Germany where they talk about just that.

In the interview Metallica frontman James Hetfield said that he would love to do soem live shows with Lou Reed, but an exact number of shows hasn't been decided on just yet.

I don’t know how many, I don’t know where. How many can we do together? It doesn’t need to be 20 shows and it doesn’t need to be one show – somewhere in the middle there, I think, to give everyone a taste of it and just see what it’s like.

Obviously Metallica wouldn't be able to play the big arenas like they have been for 20 years, so expect some smaller venues if the live shows do happen.  Since the news broke about the two giants of the music industry collaborating Metallica has been trying to tell their fans that this isn't the new Metallica album, or the bands new sound.
