The legalization of medical marijuana has been a hot topic for some time here in the state of New York. Just last month a bill passed the State Senate for such a thing but it had a few more steps before going in to law. One of those final steps could happen this week.

The State Legislature is set to end their session on Friday, June 20 and there is hope that a vote on the bill would be taken before then.

Governor Cuomo has stated he is open to the legalization with certain conditions saying that is worried that the drug's legalization could be abused.

One of the backers of the law, State Senator Diane Savino, says she is working on a deal with both Cuomo and the State Assembly to ensure the passage of the bill.

If this happens, we will have all the details here at Q103Albany.com once it does.
