Machine Head Make Headway on New Album

Liz Ramanand, Loudwire

The thrash / groove hybrid Machine Head are currently working on their follow-up to 2011′s mammoth album ‘Unto the Locust.’ The highly anticipated album has fans hoping the band will continue their hot streak that began with ‘The Blackening,’ which earned Machine Head their first Grammy nomination.

The new album will mark the debut for new bassist Jared MacEachern (ex-Sanctity), who won the honor of replacing long time four-stringer Adam Duce. MacEachern has already started his career with the band, hitting the road for the 2013 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest. It looks like the guys have wrapped up the writing process and are speculated to be entering the studio in the near future. Guitarist Phil Demmel took to Twitter to let fans know what progress has been made on the album:

In February, it was revealed that Adam Duce was no longer with the band, with a statement posted on Machine Head’s website:

“Machine Head and bassist Adam Duce have parted ways. The split is amicable, and Machine Head would like to wish Adam the best with his current and future endeavors. The band will continue on for the time being as a three-piece and have begun the writing process for their follow-up to 2011′s “Unto The Locust”. A late 2013 release is projected.”

The band may be a little behind schedule from their projected target date for a new release, but fans can get a sneak peek regarding some of the song titles by checking out the picture posted on Instagram by frontman Robb Flynn below.
