Dear Mr. Ding-A-Ling driver, you have one job. Drive slowly with music playing and sell ice cream to kids. What you are accused of isn't in the job description.
There are a few things you just don't do with this job, in the case of this Mr. Ding-A-Ling driver something you should never do period!!!! The driver was pulled over according to News 10 for driving recklessly and when he was approached by an officer the situation turned a whole lot worse for him.
Police claim he was pulled over due to erratic driving but a search inside his vehicle revealed beverages that were definitely not suitable for children. - News 10
Police had received a call around dusk last night with the claim of seeing a inebriated Mr. Ding-A-Ling driver driving in Latham on Route 9. That is a serious accusation but if true it could be far worse than a DWI. To the point of Colonie Police Lt. Ken Pero, a utility truck being driven at the hands of a man who failed the field sobriety tests. This is considered to be aggravated and according to police that means he has a blood alcohol content of higher than 0.18. That is so insanely dangerous for kids that are just excited to see the ice cream man.
Thomas Powers the driver in question has been let go from his job at Mr. Ding-A-Ling. More details on the what went down are below courtesy of News 10 ABC.
