This year's 30th annual LarkFest happens on September 17 on Lark street in Albany, between Washington and Madison avenues. It's a gathering of residents from all over the Capital Region to enjoy food, drinks, music, fun and anything else that might be happening. The band line-up for LarkFest has been announced, and can be read after the jump.

Performing on the Washington Stage are the following bands:

  • Blotto
  • Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra
  • Severe Severe
  • Faces on Film
  • Jason Spooner
  • Diego Garcia

Performing on the Madison Stage:

  • Ben Karis-Nix
  • Landlines
  • We are Jeneric
  • Cody Beebe and the Crooks
  • Motopony
  • Mike Doughty

Usually, all LarkFest bands are local, but this year, nearly half of the bands are from elsewhere, according to the article:

Six bands are from the Greater Capital Region: Blotto, Landlines, Ben Karis-Nix, Severe Severe, Alex Torres and We are Jeneric.

And six are from outside the region: Cody Beebe (Seattle, Wash.), Mike Doughty (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Faces On Film (Boston, Mass.), Diego Garcia (New York City), Motopony (Seattle, Wash.) and Jason Spooner (Portland, Maine).

I used to go to LarkFest every year. It's good, cheap, local fun and really brings out the best, and strangest of Albany, literally and figuratively. I always have to work so I can never make it, but if you've never gone, or even if you have, I highly suggest you check it out. You will not regret it!

LarkFest takes place from 10 am to 5:30 pm, and admission is free. Will you be going?
