Help Japan by Rocking Out on iTunes
There are several programs that have started to give aid to Japan since the major earthquake that struck a couple weeks ago. Apple has stepped up and is offering music as a relief fund. With charities, it’s hard for some of us to give such generous donations when a lot of us are short in cash. I can speak from experience. I say this all the time, but I’m a college student, and I can only contribute so much before I put myself in a financial hole. It’s hard for me because I feel like I never do enough.
Despite my limitations in funds, Apple has created a charity to help Japan at an incredibly generous price. iTunes collaborated an album of various artists and it’s called Songs for Japan. The artists are from all genres of music. There’s 38 songs altogether, and the album only costs $9.99! By the way, the Foo Fighters are on the album, so that should give Q103 listeners an even bigger reason to purchase the album. I’m also sure BJ will love the fact that Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way” is on the album. I know he loves the song, and I do too!
Since the tax was added to iTunes music, it’s hard to find individual songs for under 99 cents. If you were to purchase these songs individually, you would spend well over $40. This is definitely a deal I encourage everyone to take advantage of. You’re helping keep your playlist new and exciting, and you are giving aid to a country that is in severe need right now.
