Residents of Albany and Schenectady county had to deal with the heat without power yesterday (July 18) thanks to power failures. In all, over 4,000 people went without power for some time.

National Grid says that the Scotia-Glenville area lost power due to a downed primary wire. Thankfully, power was restored shortly after the lose.

The Village of Menands and Colonie were also effect by the outage. As of this morning those outages were fixed and there was a reported outage near Watervliet and Menands.

The forecast for Friday calls for a high of 99* with a Heat Advisory from Noon until 8 PM. Heat Index Values could reach 105 and above.
