Godsmack are inching closer to the Aug. 5 release of their new album '1000hp' and their latest webisode gives fans a glimpse at the role of producer Dave Fortman in the creation of their new disc.

Fortman has a history with the band, previously helming their 2010 release, 'The Oracle' and repeating his role on Godsmack's upcoming album. Frontman Sully Erna says, "I've always had great respect for the guy. We had such great luck and success that my mentality was if it's not broke, don't fix it."

As has been stated in previous interviews, the group had more input from more people on this new album, and Erna says he was glad to have Fortman around as a third party to help sort it all out. The producer says, "We had a really good dynamic in [Sully] wanting to be helped in the areas of melodies and whatever." Erna adds, "I always felt that I had a pretty good sense of how to do arrangements and it's nice when someone else comes in and gives you their own perspective."

Check out the full video above and look for '1000hp' in stores next week. You can currently pre-order the disc at Amazon and iTunes. And be on the lookout for Godsmack coming to a town near you as part of the 2014 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. Dates can be found here.
