While teeing off Friday on the 14th hole of The Tour Championship, Rory McIlroy's golf ball missed the mark just a bit.

He didn't hit the fairway or even the rough at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. He ended up in a much more difficult situation on the par-four, 442-yard hole.

His ball went into the trees, bounced around once or twice, and fell directly into a spectator's pocket ON THE FLY.

What the hell?!

After a PGA Tour official was called over, McIlroy was given a drop right where the fan was standing.

It seems like everyone involved had a good time with the whole thing and that fan sure has one hell of a story to tell!
