We live in a day and age where a lot of people have their cell phones on them constantly and at the ready. While frustrating sometimes to see that, it has given us some shocking images of current events.

The most recent were the shootings Wednesday at the Canada's Parliament Hill and the War Memorial in Ottawa.

With a shooter walking through the Parliament building, people began taking footage with their phones, Toronto's The Globe and Mail reported.

That allowed the rest of us to see the harrowing scene from a first-person perspective, including as shots were exchanged between the gunman and police.

The day of chaos left a soldier and the gunman dead, CBC reported.
