Facebook Solves Murder In Fulton New York

The Fulton Police Department say a Facebook post has helped identify the driver of a car that struck Carolee Sadie Ashby in 1968. On Halloween night 45 years ago 4 year old Carolee was crossing a street with her 15-year-old sister and cousin when a car fatally struck her. The driver of the car failed to stop after the accident and never was identified.

On Wednesday April 24, 2013 Police say a former Fulton resident whom resides currently in  Florida provided the name of the driver, Parkhurst after reading a retired detective’s Facebook post about the cold case. Because the statute of limitations has expired Police say the driver will not be charged.
