Last night, we reported that Slayer surprised attendees and viewers of the Revolver Golden Gods Awards with an unannounced show-opening set that included the brand-new song 'Implode.' Today, the news gets better for Slayer fans, as the legendary band has made the tune available for free download!

Head over to Slayer.net right now to add 'Implode' to your music collection. Did we mention that it's a FREE download? The tune was produced by Terry Date and Greg Fidelman at Hensen Studios in Los Angeles.

Along with the new song, Slayer have also announced that they're starting they're own label imprint with a worldwide distribution deal with Nuclear Blast. It means the band is parting ways with longtime label American Recordings and producer Rick Rubin.

"Rick has played a huge role in our career, we've made some great albums with him," said Slayer singer-bassist Tom Araya. "But today is a new day, record companies don't play the kind of role they once did, and we really like the idea of going out on our own, connecting directly with our fans, and Nuclear Blast is fired up about taking on that challenge with us."

All future Slayer recording's, including the band's upcoming album (tentatively due 2015), will be released via the band's new imprint and distributed by Nuclear Blast.
