Disturbed / Device singer David Draiman has just announced that Device will bow out of Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch‘s upcoming European tour. Draiman noted that the decision was made so the singer could spend time with his family and newborn son.

Before Draiman’s wife, Lena Yada, gave birth to baby Samuel Bear Isamu Draiman, potential complications with Yada’s pregnancy caused Device to cancel a number of tour dates. Although Yada successfully gave birth to a healthy child, Draiman has chosen to stay home this winter instead of embarking on a massive November / December string of European tour dates with Device. The Avenged Sevenfold / Five Finger Death Punch bill is sure to pack huge venues and has already sold out London’s Wembley Arena, so the decision definitely wasn’t made lightly.

Draiman posted the following on Device’s Facebook page:

My brothers and sisters my blood,

After careful consideration, I’ve decided to stay at home where I am needed most right now, with my family and newborn son, and not support Avenged Sevenfold
with Device on their current November-December run. I want to thank my brothers in Avenged Sevenfold for the opportunity, for their friendship, and their understanding, and I look forward to seeing all of you again sometime in the future.

Sincerely, and with my deepest respect,

David Draiman

Swedish metal act Avatar has been recruited to support A7X and FFDP on their European run, giving Avatar the biggest break of their career so far. Avatar released ‘Black Waltz’ in 2012 and are scheduled to release a new album in March 2014.
