Experts agree that the pivotal moment for getting off drugs is hitting rock bottom. For some, that means getting divorced or having their kids taken away, but rock bottom is different for everybody. In Dave Grohl's case, it was finding himself watching the Kardashians that convinced the Foo Fighters frontman to quit smoking pot.

We've all wondered how Dave Grohl is able to find the time to take on a seemingly endless string of projects. The answer may, in fact, be insomnia. According to Grohl in a new interview with NME, the prolific musician took to smoking weed in order to help him sleep. However, Grohl swore off the stuff after an incident with TV's most superfluous family.

“I stopped doing drugs when I was about 20 years old,” Grohl tells NME. “But I recently thought, ‘Oh, I’m going to start smoking pot again to cure insomnia. I’d put the kids to bed, go upstairs and smoke a bit of pot. But then I’d get stuck in front of the Kardashians on TV for 45 minutes. And it freaked me out. I was like, ‘I’m never doing this ever again. It’s definitely not for me.'”

Well done, Dave! Now if only the rest of the U.S. could kick their 'Kardashians' addiction.
