The recent structural failure at the Glens Falls Civic Center has me thinking of some of the epic shows we've seen at this classic rock venue.

For me it started in 1984 (yeah, getting old), with Ozzy Osbourne on his "Bark at the Moon" tour with a little known opening act called Motley Crue. That was my first time traveling all the way from Schenectady to the far away land of Glens Falls and although it seemed to take FOREVER to get there as a 13 year old headbanger, it was one of those shows I'll never forget!!

The list of bands I've seen there is incredible!!! Aerosmith, Metallica, Motley Crue (twice), AC/DC, Def Leppard, Rush, Marilyn Manson, the list goes on and on!! I'm sure you have your own list, and I'm sure it comes with some crazy stories. My story involves Kiss, our ride getting arrested, a 2 hour delay to start the show, and of course, a huge snowstorm! Any of you that went to the "Animalize" show know what I mean!!

Those days were filled with the hazy contact high inside the building and ticket prices that rarely exceeded $20. Today, we may not have to simply arrive to get stoned, but the shows are still just as intense!!

Godsmack is up next to shake the rafters on May 6th and although the building may be old, and it may be currently spilling its bricks on the sidewalk, I'm sure this classic venue will be ready for us to invade and get our asses rocked!!!

If it's been a while, here's a reminder of what this place brings us, Megadeath from 2012.
