Chris Cornell says in a new Rolling Stone video interview that the new Soundgarden album is mostly done and feels the band hasn't missed a beat.  Soundgarden's new album will be out in the Spring of 2012 and is the first new material from the band in almost 16 years.  Watch the interview now. Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell doesn't know why it took almost 12 years to reunite.   In describing the new album Chris Cornell told Rolling Stone.

It's very warm to me and adventurous like all our albums were. It doesn't sound like a throwback to any previous period and we're definitely approaching songs in different ways than we've done... but we always did that from album to album so it feels like the genuine next step to me. It doesn't feel nostalgic, it feels forward.

Chris Cornell plans to release a new solo project called Songbook on November 21st featuring 16 tracks including covers and material from all stages of Cornell's career. His solo acoustic tour will be stopping at The Egg in Albany on November 17th.
