The raw power of Mother Nature can be so damn dangerous, sometimes unexpected and completely out of our control. Even with the technology we have predicting her fury can sometimes leave us with minutes to act. Unfortunately for some, there is zero time for preparation.
Have you invested crazy loot in tissues? Are you tired of waking up in the morning and blowing out large amounts of snot from your nose? Tired of random droplets of snot dripping down your face as you put the moves on a lovely betty? Me too! Might as well burn that crap! The pollen that is.
It's hotter than a naked mans penis grinding all over the pavement out there, fo-real! Think about this for a second. You're out on Central Ave. taking a stroll on this 90 degree day, you know, cause it may be too hot in your house. Anyway, you're taking your walk when out of no where you see a naked man. Like, full grown male human being in his birthday suit getting ready to exercise in broad daylight. Wait, what?
Yesterday was wack-a-doodle-doo wasn't it? Seriously, the weather around here has been nutty the last few weeks! Heavy downpours and urban flooding to possible tornadoes and it's not even Summer yet!
Boom! Thunderstorms, tornado watches/warnings- Pure craziness around here. It reminds me of last week, remember? Flooding, rain, flooding and more rain. The Albany area has seen it's fair share of storms over the last week.
The unofficial start to Summer wasn't exactly that, was it? Essentially, in the Albany Area, it rained all weekend with the beauty of sun and warm temps setting in on Monday. Of course, that was the last day of our holiday weekend, so yeah- Last weekend was a bust. Let me just say, it could have been a heck of a lot worse.
During those torrential downpours yesterday I found myself driving in Schenectady through urban flooding. It was insane! Broadway went from a major street to a river in no time. The water was literally washing man hole covers and road debris down the street like it was a natural occurrence. It was a bit nerve racking and kind of dirty, to be honest.
Say what you want but the torrential rains we received earlier today (Wednesday) were sick. With a friend sending me crazy pics from Scotia and my own personal pics while I was retrieving a friend at the train in Schenectady, I felt like I needed to show you exactly what happens when it downpours for about 30 minutes.
So, the snow may be slowing down out there, but the reports are coming in. Accidents here and accidents there. It's bound to happen right? Everyone seems to have 4-wheel drive and of course, driving way to fast for conditions can only mean one thing: Crash, crack, boom!
I have a bone to pick with Punxsutawney Phil. 'An early Spring is coming' (which translates to six more weeks of Winter) was the prediction from our furry friend in Punxsutawney, PA.. By the way, that was six weeks ago, and no, no sign of Spring is near. In fact, expect another dose of Old Man Winter around these parts starting tonight.
